The Candidates were 4 and out of which Madhusudana Reddy Thakkala (TRS) won the elections defeating the nearest rival Dr. S Venugopala Achary of the TDP by a margin of 40974 votes
Godavari one of the largest rivers in India raises in the western ghats and enters Adilabad near Basara in Mudhole Taluk, forms the southern boundary of the district separating it from Nizamabad and Karimnagar districts.River Penganga forms part of the northern boundary of the district in Adilabad, the Wardha and the Pranahita form the northern and eastern boundaries of the district, making the district fertile on its own.
Adilabad is a lok sabha constituency from the relatively underdeveloped Telengana area of Andhra Pradesh. The district has been named after the Bijapur Sultanate ruler Ali Adil Shah. Singareni Collieries of Bellampally, Coal Chemical Co,plex of Ramakrishnapuram, Sirpur Paper Mills, Orient Cement Factory are some of the industries in Adilabad.
