Thiagarajar College of Engineering(TCE), Madurai, aff iliated to Anna University, Chennai. It was established in the year 1957.

TCE is funded by Central & State Governments and Management. The courses offered in TCE are approved by All India Council for Technical Education, NewDelhi. It was granted Autonomy in the year 1987. TCE has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation.
TCE offers Nine Undergraduate Programmes, Eleven Postgraduate Programmes and Doctoral Programmes in Engineering and Science.

Sri Karumuthu Thiagaraja Chettiar , a great Philantrophist from Chettinadu , founded the college in sixties - at that time there were only 5 Engineering colleges in Tamilnadu.the college is situated in hilly terrains, offering a conducive atmosphere for studies . the workshop and labratory facilities were second to none , even in those days .i had the opportunity to study under three principals - Mr.Maria Louis , Mr.Raman and Mr.Meiyappan .I last visited my college in 2004 and was proud to see that my Almamater had grown manyfold in the past 35 years .
