About Ananda Chandra College
This is a Govt. sponsored college in Jalpaigrui,very familiar in this Northen Region of West Bengal, More than 2000 Students study here in this college.
Here is all the session of the the subject is separated, morning and day session and also have some subject in Matser Degree as Bengali, Sociology, English etc.
It is one of the reputed college under university of north bengal.It has two stream science and arts.It is a three storey building.it has a big play ground of its own.The biggest gym of Jalpaigur is situated at the college premises. It has a hostel facility with the overseas bank to do the banking afairs for the all the student and college staffs.It is about 3 km from the sadar kadamtala.
Here course of ignou has also been started here.
COURSES OF STUDY:
The College admits Students in the B.A./B.Sc. General Honours Degree Courses and P.G. Course in Bengali. There is also a Post Graduate Course in Physical Education(B.P.Ed.). Our Co-ed college provides the following courses of study.
MORNING SECTION:
Science Stream: General(Pass) Course with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Arts Stream: General(Pass) Course. The Subjects offered are, Political Science, Sociology/Sanskrit, Economice/Education, Philosophy/Physical Education, History, Geography.
Students are to select 3 elective Subjects, In addition they have to take Bengali/Hindi/Nepali/Alternative English in the 1st Year class, English(Compulsory) in the 2nd year class and Environmental studies in the 3rd year class. Hindi, Nepali, and Alternative English are offered as non-taught subjects.
DAY SECTION:
Honours Courses : Honours Programmes are available in subjects as under.
Science Stream : Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Physiology.
Arts Stream : English, Bengali, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Snaskrit, Philosophy
General(Pass) Courses : Subjects taught are listed below.
Pure Science Stream : Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics
Biological Science Stream : Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Chemistry.
Arts Stream : Elective English, Elective Bengali, Economics, Education, Political Science, Geography, Philosophy, Physical Education, Sociology, Sanskrit.
HONOURS COURSE CANDIDATES ARE TO SELECT –
a) One Honours Subject
b) Two Elective Pass Subjects from among those offered at the college.

It has a well facilitated library and reading room that caters to all the courses taught in it. Students can also join the NCC as students as the college has an NCC camp in it. There is also a gymnasium that is owned by the college along with a good playing field and canteen.
The Netaji Subhas Open University also has its study center in this college and classes are usually held in the Evenings or on Sundays. Has a lot of Graduate and PG courses including some Job-oriented ones such as Master of Social Work.
The college has also recently started the Bachelor of Physical Education course.
