About T. S. Narayanaswami College of Arts And Science


Set up in 1996 by the India Cements Educational Society, the T. S. Narayanaswami College of Arts and Science is a co-ed college affiliated to the University of Madras.

Academics

Both under graduate and post graduate courses are offered in this college. Private and government scholarships are available for both need and on merit basis. Internships and industrial visits may be arranged from time to time. A placement cell provides soft skills guidance and brings in recruiters to the campus.

The college departments are:

  2. Science - Biochemistry and Computer Science

  3. Arts - Commerce, Business Administration, Corporate Secretaryship

  4. Allied - Mathematics, Statistics, Economics

Facilities and Infrastructure

The college campus has an Audio-Visual room for screening movies and presenting theatre shows. There is a separate Auditorium-Elango Hall for major programs and events on the campus. The Biochemistry Lab is equipped with the latest contemporary equipment, such as UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, Digital Colorimeter, Light Microscope, Hot Air Oven, etc. There are 3 Computer Science Labs, two for the undergraduate students and one for the post graduate students. There is also a digital & microprocessor lab.

Additional facilities: An in-house canteen provides nutritious food. The library is well stocked with newspapers, books and periodicals and is open from 9.15 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. It provides Institutional Memberships with the prestigious British Council Library, Chennai. Provision has been made for a separate internet library for surfing the Net, which is available for both students and faculty. College buses are provided for both students and faculty.

There are a variety of unique clubs to encourage students to showcase their talent and participate in extracurricular activities. These include:
