About Pope John Paul II college of Education
The genesis of the college has to be traced back to the historical visit of the Holy Father Pope John Paul II, the reigning Pope, to our motherland in 1986. In perfect accordance with the vision of the Holy Father and in response to the aspiration of the peopleof Pondicherry, the Senate of the Archdiocese of Pondicherry-Cuddalore decided to embark, for the first time, on tertiary education. Consequently, the first College of the Archdiocese as well as the first College of Education of the Union Territory took shape. In honor of the Holy Father, the College was named after him. It stands as a monument espousing the values of the Pontiff.
