Curriculum of Bachelor of Dance
The course focuses on dance history, modern dance and dance forms, choreography, theatre, ethnic dance styles, kinesiology, rhythmic analysis, production, dance improvisation, dance pedagogy, fundamentals of movements, dance composition and dance criticism. The program prepares the students to interact with members of different dance forms/company. The course builds awareness of rhythm, music, dance and performing arts in the creative minds of students. It enhances the respect for the cultural tradition and history of the particular region. The students are exposed to theatre program, costumes and lighting classes.
Eligibility for the Course
The students who have passed 10+2 from a recognized board. The candidates who have an interest and an inborn talent for dance is an added advantage for the admission into the degree course. The course demands hard work, dedication and long hours practice /rehearsing. The working hours would be extended late in night as most of the performances/show is held at night. Dancers must have good stamina for long hours of practice, determination, self discipline towards the profession to achieve success. They should have good grasping ability and coordinating skills while performing in a group. The aspiring candidates must be motivated to become recognized for a successful career.
