More about the course
This is a 4 semester course, which gives due weightage to both theory and practical aspects of the course. There are regular workshops, seminars and assignments during the complete tenure of the course. The final semester is however dedicated completely to a research based project work which is to be completed after getting exposure to the industries. The course covers topics on designing chemical plants and maintaining them. You learn methods that help you transform raw materials, chemicals and even living cells into useful products. Other than the fundamentals, this course provides you with necessary professional skills including communication, to make a mark in this field. You learn on managing chemical plants, manage process changes and troubleshoot problems. Thermodynamics, mathematical methods in chemical engineering and transport phenomena are some important topics.
