It is a Graduation/ under graduate course in the field of technology. There are many branches in the course like Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, etc and students can select any of them as per their interest and previous specialization. Through this course, candidates get equipped with all the technical knowledge and skills by theoretical learning and practical handling.

Candidates who have cleared their 12th board examinations with science stream are eligible for this course. The minimum qualifying marks may vary from institute to institute and need to be confirmed before submission of application form.

These entrance tests can be of National level like AIEEE, state level and institute level.
The duration for this course is 4 regular years. These 4 years are equivalent to 8 semesters. The syllabus for the course is also divided into 8 different semesters. This duration is 3 years for Diploma holders who get direct admission in 2nd year of the ongoing course.
Further study options
As mentioned above, it is a under graduate course, candidates can go for their post graduation that is Masters in Technology/ Masters in Science/ Masters in Engineering. These post graduation course are again having all the different fields available for B.Tech hence candidates can go for their own specialization.
Apart from this, some candidates also find the Management degree fascinating. They can pursue MBA after completion of their B. Tech as their additional work domain.
After PG, the last option is to pursue PhD- a research based course which allows you to perform in depth research of any of the topic from your field.
The regular classes includes theoretical sessions and practical labs. The last semester includes dissertation which includes a short project at any institute, company or firm.
