Overview


Ever since the industrial revolution in the 19th century, mankind has progressed a lot in every field. But all this progress has come at a high price. The mining activities, farming, housing, manufacturing and the numerous industries have taken their toll on the environment. These activities, though beneficial for us, have resulted in tremendous loss to the environment, in terms of loss of forest cover, pollution and global warming. As an environmental engineer you will be devising strategies and measures to reduce the impact on environment due to the above activities. Environmental engineering is a noble profession and the way our environment is getting degraded, it’s soon going to be much in demand too.

Eligibility and course duration


Pass in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Math. Admissions are through entrance tests.

Environmental engineers are experts who help minimise the production of waste and pollution. By taking suitable measures they help reduce pollution such as air, water and soil. They devise strategies to recycle the waste into useful product, thus limiting pollution. They protect us from hazardous chemicals, that are treated and their toxicity reduced, before getting released to the environment. They coordinate environmental activities and make sure the industries or companies they are working for are environment compliant.
