Overview


One of the greatest challenges facing mankind today is feeding the ever increasing population. Since ages, the oceans have been providing us with seafood that has taken care of a big part of our food requirement. But world over, the demand for fishery products is outpacing the supply, as extractive fishing is not able to cope up with the increasing demand. The best alternative that lies with us today is aquaculture. Aquaculture is our best bet for food security. Already 50% of the world’s fishery production is through aquaculture. In the times to come aquaculture is going to play a more significant role in food production.
