JBT is an abbreviation of Junior basic training which is a Diploma based Teaching course. It is advised and beneficial for those who wants to have career in the field of teaching in Pre-primary level schools or who wants to start their own educational organizations. Candidates having keen interest in teaching, have innovative mind for new teaching methods and have better understanding for child psychology can go for this course and can have great career ahead.
All 12th passed candidates are eligible for this course. The minimum qualifying marks are 50% in 12th board for most of the institutes. Candidates are advised to check their eligibility carefully before submitting their application form.
It is also available for graduation level candidates who have cleared their examination with at least 45% marks as aggregate.
For most of the institutes, the admissions are offered simply on the basis of Merit list and only few universities are conducting entrance examination for this course. In his course, candidates performing well in the entrance exams will have chance to get admission. Some institutes may also conduct an interview session to check the capability of candidates for teaching.

After successful completion of this course, candidates can pursue higher degrees available in the field of education. These can be Post Graduation Diploma level courses, B.Ed, M.Ed, etc. Interested candidates can also pursue research based courses like PhD and M.Phil.
