Job opportunities

Most of the careers related to this field are either linked with civil engineering or with exploration sciences. For most large scale civil engineering projects, the role of a geologist is very crucial. Even in projects that concerns with exploring minerals, coal and petroleum products, the knowledge about the soil conditions is very essential, that only a geologist can provide. Geologists have numerous career options like mining industry, oil and gas exploration, civil construction projects like tunnels and dams, projects concerning the environment and many more. Geology departments, both in the private and the government, are open for employment for geologists. Those interested in research work can opt for a PhD in Geology.
