M.Sc Medical Biochemistry is a 3 year program that consists of theory classes, seminars, practical sessions, assignment, project work and a dissertation. It involves studying the biological processes such as growth, body metabolisms, reproduction and the effect that environment has on living organisms. It’s about studying the fundamentals of human anatomy and physiology to studying structures and functions of macromolecules such as enzymes, fats, proteins and carbohydrates. Through the advances made in medical biochemistry one gets to understand the structure of the DNA. In this field you study the causes of diseases and the role of genetics in transmission of diseases from generation to generation. It also involves studying the chemical changes that take place in living cells signaling the onset of diseases.
