Nanoscience or nanotechnology is a new field of science that deals with the study of matter at subatomic scales, i.e. particles having sizes ranging in nanometers. To understand how big or small a nanometer is, one nanometer compares to only one billionth of a meter. At such scales one works with molecules and supramolecules. Ordinary optical microscopes can’t be used for working with them. It requires an electron microscope. The best thing about nanoscience is, it’s not restricted to only one branch of science. It’s finding applications in every field, whether physics, chemistry, biology, material science or even engineering.
Eligibility and course duration
B.Sc in any of the science subjects such as physics, chemistry and life sciences with minimum 55% marks in aggregate. Or an engineering degree in material science, chemical, electronics, mechanical, biotechnology or computer science.
Duration of this postrgraduate program is 2 years.
