M.Phil. is Masters in Philosophy and it is a research based degree for post graduates. The specialization 'Malayalam' is completely dealing with Malayalam as language, literature, culture and many other aspects.

They study about famous authors of Malayalam, their books, novels, etc. They also study about Poets of this field. The part of Malayalam Drama, Theater, short scripts, etc is also included in this course.
The first half of course includes theoretical studies and later part of the course includes short term project.
Candidates write the thesis and submit the before ending of their semester.
These candidates can work in Schools and Colleges teaching Malayalam. They can work as a translator, writer, etc.
