After completing this course one can get into a number of areas. Chemical industry, petrochemicals, oil & gas production, energy production, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, food processing, plastics, polymers, agrochemical, metallurgy and geochemical are some such fields. Depending upon one’s area of interest, one can get into processing, manufacturing or into operations. There are also opportunities in designing and construction of large scale chemical plants. A lot of stress is on research, in this field. There are various research positions available both with the private as well as in government research and development labs. Opportunities are arising in new domains such as biotechnology and nanotechnology. If one desires, one can go for further studies that includes M.E/M.Tech and PhD.
