In this course on food science and technology you will be learning a lot many exciting things about food and beverages. There will be lessons on food and water safety, food hygiene, nutrition, biotechnology, food microbiology, food rheology, beverage science and food processing technology. Other than that you will be learning about techniques involved in edible oil processing, biochemistry of muscle foods, proteins and enzymes rich food and development of health products with high nutritional values. You get to learn of the various manufacturing, processing and refining processes that are part and parcel of converting raw materials into edible food. Food science and technology has a lot of scope for research. The course as such lays stress on research in its final semesters which involves doing project works and preparing a thesis.
