In these certification courses you will be learning about installing, repairing, servicing and adjustment of instruments being used in a host of industries and laboratories. As an instrument mechanic you will learn working with lots of gauges, meters and instruments. Most such instruments are being used for measurement of physical parameters and control of processes. Other than the basics on instrumentation you will be learning about the electrical and electronic fundamentals on which the working of the instrument depends. You will pick up skills in adjusting, calibrating of instruments and in following safety practices that goes with handling the instruments. You learn about concepts on measurement of pressure, flow, temperature, level, force and other such variables. A few other concepts that you learn about in this course are process control, fluid dynamics, motors, signalling, hydraulics and pneumatics.
There are a good many job opportunities for instrument mechanics in the industrial sector. They are required in a host of industries such as avionics, railways, automation, defence, power generation & transmission, petrochemicals, petroleum, manufacturing units, assembly plants, nuclear reactors and so on. Both the private as well as the government sector provides for opportunities for growth in this sector. You can also work on your own in this field taking up repairing and servicing assignments.
