The undergraduate course is of four years duration and is multidisciplinary which combines the fields of geology, engineering and public health. Engineering geology involves in studying about all aspects of soil, rocks, groundwater and other natural systems, Geologists study about drawings of all collected information, help in developing mapping works, accurate geological logs etc. The course aims at providing strong theoretical and practical knowledge on principles and technical processes involved in geological studies.The course trains the students in investigation of stability of rocks and in understanding of environmental threats. Program focuses on study of water sources, soil stability and natural processes that could have an effect on the environment.
The student should have passed PUC/ (10+2) or its equivalent (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) from a recognized university. They should have interest in working in construction sites, mining fields etc. Admissions is through Entrance Examination and counselling

The course provides in-depth knowledge on risk factors involved on constructions on bed rocks that supports buildings. The study relates to geological factors which has impact on civil engineering design, location, construction operation, maintenance of engineering works, value engineering and project works of public/private construction stages. The main aim of the engineering geologists is protection of property and life caused due to natural calamities. Geological investigations are performed on areas of residential commercial and industrial developments, military installations, public works such as sewage treatment, water treatment, power generation, airport, dam reservoir, quarry works, restoration programs, tunneling, sea pipeline and other facilities. Geologists duties includes collecting data, preparing reports, supervise the construction sites, visit projects works advise on constructions materials, site selection etc. They should also provide aerial photographs, geological maps, attend professional conferences. The program enables them to equip with skills required for application of geology in engineering. Students are trained to provide effective advice on safe and environment friendly atmosphere. Study subjects covers materials and mechanics, rock mechanics, applied designs and field methodologies. The course build professional skills in analytical abilities and problems solving skills.
