The main aim of the engineering geologists is protection of property and life caused due to natural calamities. Geological investigations are performed on areas of residential commercial and industrial developments, military installations, public works such as sewage treatment, water treatment, power generation, airport, dam reservoir, quarry works, restoration programs, tunneling, sea pipeline and other facilities. Geologists duties includes collecting data, preparing reports, supervise the construction sites, visit projects works advise on constructions materials, site selection etc. They should also provide aerial photographs, geological maps, attend professional conferences.
