M.D. is abbreviated form of Doctor of Medicine, which is a post graduate course in the field of medical science. The specialization of Radiodiagnosis is the branch of diagnostics field which deals with ultrasound, radiation, magnetic resonance, etc. Candidates also learn about pathology, anatomy, physiology and other interventional procedures.
The course gives idea about sub specialties of Radiodiagnostics like GI-radiology, Neuro-radiology, Vascular-radiology, Uro-radiology, Pediatric radiology, Musculoskeletal, Mammography and many others. It also teaches about allergic contrast reactions, resuscitation methods, etc.
A candidates must be MBBS degree holder for this course. Any other equivalent degree is also accepted subject to recognition of equivalence. Candidates should also have completed their 1 year internship program and 1 year experience after that.
The age must not be higher than 45 years for this course.
Duration is 3 years for this course. These 3 years included theoretical and experimental sessions equally.
The admission is done through entrance examination. Interested candidates need to submit their duly filled application form before last date and then need to appear in the entrance test. Candidates performing well will get short listed for the admissions.
Further Study options
After completion of this course, candidates can pursue PhD. in Neuroimaging and interventional Radiology. Other options include some short term courses like Diploma in C.T. Scan Technician, Medical radiology and Electro Therapeutics, Medical Radio Diagnosis, etc.
