The course is a combination of both traditional as well as latest cutting edge topics on electrical engineering. There will be usual topics on power generation, transmission, distribution, control systems, power electronics, solid state devices, computers along with those on current hot ones such as smart grids, integrating renewable energy systems with the conventional ones. You get to broaden your knowledge about the various applications of electricity, electromagnetism and other fields such as electronics. Some other areas of specialization could be communication, signal processing, photonics and so on. The curriculum will include project works, practicals and physical demonstration of the concepts. There will be opportunities for undertaking independent research work that comes handy when you pursue a PhD or MPhil course.
