M.Sc. Psychiatric Nursing (Master of Science in Psychiatric Nursing) is a Post Graduation course which aims the candidates willing to become Psychiatric Health Nurses (PHNs).
They learn to treat psychiatric disorders in patients.
The course provides the knowledge about all the ethical skills which are required to work in the field of mental health facilities.

This course specifically focuses on the mental illness of all age groups and teaches about schizophrenia, psychosis, bipolar disorder, dementia, depressions, etc.
Candidates get an opportunity to learn through dual diagnosis, psycho-educational and psycho-social interventions, illness management etc.
Candidates holding bachelor degree in Nursing or any other equivalent course from recognized and reputed institutes are eligible for this course. The minimum qualifying marks should be 50% or more. Some institutes may demand a Registered Nurse (RN) license for this course.
For admission, interested candidates need to fill and submit the application form enclosed with all other required documents before last date. The admission can be direct on first come first serve basis, can be on merit basis and some reputed institutes may also conduct their entrance test to short list the candidates f admission.
The duration for this course is 2 years.
