It is a post graduation course of technical stream which is designed with many objectives. Candidates get knowledge about DFT- used for frequency analysis of the signal through different analyzing methods, how to develop algorithms for Fast Fourier & Z Transform, Sampling rate conversion methods, non-parametric methods for power spectrum estimation, finite word length effects in DSP systems and power spectrum estimation analysis using parametric methods.
The course also includes study about application of IIR filter for adaptive signal processing, Estimation power spectrum using the non-parametric methods, different signals generation at different sample rates and Implementation of FIR filters for the noise reduction.
This course required graduates from the field of technology hence candidates holding B.E. or B.Tech Degree with at least 60% marks as aggregate are eligible for this course. This degree must be pursued from a recognized and affiliated institute.
Candidates holding masters degree like MCA (Master of Computer Application), M.Sc. in similar or related stream are also eligible for this course.
Interested candidates can avail their admission through performing good in entrance examinations. Most of the institutes conduct entrance examinations for this course. Some institutes also short list the candidates depending upon their performance in national level examinations like GATE.
Candidates need to submit their filled application from along with all other documents before last date.
The duration for this course is 4 semesters. Each semester is having 6 months duration and the course ends in 2regular years. It cannot be pursued through correspondence or as a part time course.
Further Study options
After completion of this course, candidates having research aptitude can enroll them selves for PhD. It is Doctorate degree involving thorough study of literature and research work on the selected topic. This course does not have any age restriction hence candidates can pursue the same as per their suitability and requirement.
The course is a combination of many theoretical subjects/ topics, some elective subjects, some short term projects and many lab sessions. Candidates learn about Advanced Digital Signal Processing, Digital System design, VLSI Technology & Design, Detection & Estimation of signals, Coding theory & Practice, Embedded & Real time systems, etc through theoretical lectures.
