Course Description

The course B.Sc in Plant Biology is or three years duration and prepares the students to equip with vast knowledge about plant life for their career life. Plants are the primary source of food for all living beings on the earth. They play a vital role in earth's dynamic changes and solves problems facing the human beings. There is huge demand for plant biologists across the world for preserving life on earth. They are needed for developing new technologies to face the challenges arising in the areas of food scarcity, pollution, deforestation, global warming etc. The course focuses on study of structure, functions and physiology of plant life and their interactions with the surrounding environment. The program equips the students with all aspects of plant life to face the challenges in the areas and apply their gained knowledge to find solutions.The program emphasis on the concepts of appreciation of plant life and their economic uses for the mankind. The curriculum covers theoretical lectures, laboratory experiments, project works, field visits, record writing, assessments and examinations. Training enhances the skills for critical thinking and logical reasoning.
