Course Description of B.Sc Sports


The three year duration program in B.Sc in Sports prepares students to become competent sports professionals in the sports settings. The course exposes students to psychological assessments and scientifically based programs in wide range of areas. Students are provided with wide range of knowledge on human movements body responses to physical exertions from fitness training. The training imparts knowledge n disciplines of exercise sports physiology, training and conditioning, movement analysis and exercise psychology. They learn about the factors that influence the performance of sports and the strategies/ techniques to be implemented for improvement. There is huge demand for sports professionals across the globe for training individuals in the sports field.

Eligibility criteria

Students should have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) PUC with physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics from a recognized state board. They should be able to take sports in healthy spirits in critical situations.

Additional Description of B.Sc Sports


The graduation course is interdisciplinary and develops theoretical knowledge through lectures and practical training helps students to gain hands on experience in sports. The sports content covers movement analysis, training, health concepts, nutrition, human performance, exercise psychology /physiology, psycho motor learning, flexibility, muscular endurance and body composition. Subject study includes anatomy, physiology, theories in games and sports, first aid, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, kinesiology and bio-mechanics. Training provides strong foundation skills in English communication and enhances interpersonal capabilities. The intensive training enables them to gain knowledge in information technology and in writing reports. Emphasis is laid on students to gain knowledge in nutrition, bio-mechanism, physiology/psychology. Students develop skills in collecting researching data, analyzing and recording results. They would be trained in effective problem solving skills and become competent professionals in the field. Trained professionals need to work hard in the sports settings and be fit for training the individuals.
