Low cost of investment for mushroom cultivation and in a very smaller area, make it very suitable for self employment. High yield, low cost of production and round the year production makes it a profitable venture. Therefore, many mushroom culture industries have been set up in India where good employment opportunities exist for persons trained in mushroom culture.
