Eligibility Criteria

  1. The students who wish to study this lower diploma, should pass higher secondary prior to this course. You can also complete a two year or three year diploma, which is equivalent higher secondary or ISE course. To know whether your diploma course is equivalent to 10+2 or not, you need to follow the guidelines given by UGC or other government organizations through official gazettes.
  2. The minimum marks to be scored in the aggregate of 10+2 is 50%.
  3. There is no restriction regarding the stream of specialization in higher secondary. Nonetheless, this course is beneficial for students of the arts or social sciences stream.


Job Prospects

  • You can apply for project grants from the government of India on any of the three languages, Pali, Sanskrit or Ardhamagadhi. If your project has high potential, then the government will invest in your project and being the principal investigator of that project you will get a lucrative amount.
  • You can apply for research assistant positions abroad. In that case, you will have to clear either of TOEFL or IELTS. These examinations will evaluate your potential in speaking or writing in English. After a few years of your tenure, you can apply for research associate positions.
  • You can join the Indian embassy as a translator. Your job will be to translate Sanskrit or Pali language to any of the currently spoken languages in India.
  • Lastly, if you complete graduation in Indian History, you can become an archaeologist. Your job will be to decipher the primitive scriptures found by the excavators.
