Master of Arts is most of the times addressed in its abbreviated form, that is M.A. It is a Post Graduation level course in the field of Arts and it has different specializations. M.A. in Graphic Arts is a course with teaches all about various advanced abilities involved in traditional craft processes and digital image making. Candidates seeking admission in M.A. Graphic Arts need to submit their filled application form enclosed with other required documents like qualification certificates, address proof, age certificate, application fee etc before the last date of submission.
Some institute offer direct admissions, some short list candidates in merit basis and some reputed institutes conduct their own entrance examinations to validate the knowledge and skills of candidates.
The duration for this course is 2 years or 4 semesters.
Further Study options
After completion of M.A. in Graphic Arts, candidates interested in higher studies can enroll for M.Phil and then PhD in Graphic Arts. These are research based course and most of the institutes do not have any age restriction for these courses.
The course starts with basic topics like elements of visual designing, design Studio, photo communication, interaction design, etc. It also includes some part about history of art and design in India and other countries.
The later part of course includes typography, motion design, package design, publication designing and other related topics.
Some advanced topics like advanced typography, programming for designers, etc are also included in the course for better employments.
Candidates need to pursue a small term object at the end of each semester.
They can work in film industry, websites, animation and games industries, fashion companies, etc very easily.
