Candidates holding Bachelor’s or Graduation degree in B.A. Fine Arts/ Art History/ Humanities or any other related subject are eligible for this course. It must be pursued from a recognized institute and should have secured at least 55% marks.
Candidates having aptitude in fine Arts and are familiar with art objects get preferred for the course.

The duration for this course is 2 years. Some institutes add 1 additional year for candidates from non Art back ground.
The course starts with theoretical topics like Philosophy of Art oriental and Occidental, History of modern Indian Art, Nature study, its composition, history of modern western art, etc.
The practical part of course includes creative and Mural painting, portraiture cum life study, creative compositions, etc.
The course also includes a short term project or a dissertation which is to be completed before the curse ending.
