Introduction

Doctor of Philosophy is also known as PhD and it is a research based course available is most of the streams. PhD in Fine Arts is study about different art forms like sculpture, painting, music, architecture, poetry, etc. The course can be done in regular mode or through distance learning mode and in such cases, the duration for course varies.

Admission Procedure

Candidates interested in admissions need to appear in entrance test conducted at national level, state level or by individual institute.
Here, another round of interview of short listed candidates may also get conducted at institutes.

Duration

PhD being a research based course; the duration is not fixed and varies between 3 to 5 years. This includes course work and thesis writing. The research work should be done in stipulated time and the extension can be given for thesis writing and submission that too after approval against valid reasons.
Duration for part time PhD or through distance learning varies and ranges between 5 to 8 years.

Further Study options

After its completion, further studies can be done as a Post Doctorate degree. It is again a research based course and candidates can continue their work after their PhD.
