In most of the cases, the admissions are direct on first come and first serve basis. Candidates need to submit the application form duly filled and enclosed with all other required documents and application fee before the last date of submission.
The duration of this course is 2 years in regular mode. It varies from one institute to another depending upon different factors like mode of the course, previous qualification of candidates, etc.
Further Study options
After successfully completing the Master’s degree, candidates interested in higher studies can pursue Ph.D. in Yoga or related subjects like Applied Yoga, Yoga and Rehabilitation, Yoga and management, Naturopathy, etc.
Candidates having interest in teaching can go for B.Ed. in Yoga.
The course starts with basic topics like introduction to Yoga Studies which includes philosophy of yoga, basic Sanskrit, basic psychological processes and human anatomy- physiology. Then candidates learn about a relationship between consciousness and yoga, basic research methodologies and statistics, health-related impacts of yoga and theoretical perspectives in Yoga.
The latter part of the course teaches about message of Upanishads, western and inter-disciplinary approaches of consciousness and candidates get an opportunity to pursue case studies for better understanding.
These candidates can work in educational institutes as Yoga tutor, in resorts, spa centers, sports clubs, hospitals, etc. They can become Yoga therapy instructor, Panchakarma therapist, clinical psychologist, yoga trainer, gym manager cum instructor, etc as per their interest.
