The course starts with general energy-related topics like Energy Scenario and energy forms, thermal utilities, fuels and combustion, thermodynamics, heat transfer systems, generation, transmission and distribution of energy, etc. Then candidates learn about thermal power generation, waste heat recovery and cogeneration, hydropower generation, energy management, green building and other related things through this course.
It also includes some seminars and a short-term project.

They can work in academic organizations, power related corporations, natural gas plants, atomic power plants, chemical plants, etc as per their choice and availability.
