Course Details:

This two year PG course is aimed at building skilled chemical engineers and covers various subjects like Advanced Thermodynamics, Advanced Process Control, Chemical Process Design, Energy Management, Gas Transportation, Petroleum Economics, Risk Analysis and Management, Project Engineering of Process Plants, Environmental Science, Waste Water Engineering, Environmental Sustainability in the first year. Students are required to carry out a research or an implementation project in the second year along with presentation of a special topic seminar or Internship.

Job opportunities:

In the initial days of this course the PG pass outs joined petroleum or chemical companies but now there are various other avenues open. They can now work in electronics, pharmaceuticals, food, clothing, paper, biotechnology, healthcare etc. The engineers are basically involved in applying their knowledge to solve the problems associated with production or use of chemicals or related products and even byproducts. There are ample opportunities in both the government research laboratories, organizations and the private sector industries.
