Course Name: Ph.D Biomedical Engineering
Group:
Stream: Science
Course Category: Biotechnology
Duration: 3 - 5 years

Overview

Biomedical engineering is an interdisciplinary field that applies the principles of engineering and physical sciences in solving problems related to the medical field. Many of the advances that we see in the field of medical diagnostics and therapeutic treatments are the gifts of the discipline of biomedical engineering. The field of healthcare has been most benefited by the closing of this gap between engineering and medical science. Biomedical engineering provides for immense opportunities in research, as it’s still a relatively new field. Primarily a research oriented field, most of the work done in this field are for research and development only.

Eligibility and course duration

A master’s degree in engineering, medicine, pharmaceutical sciences or dental surgery with at least 55% marks in aggregate. Others with master’s degree in pure sciences and a valid GATE score, too may apply. Those with bachelor’s degree and a valid GATE score can also get considered, if backed by exceptional academic performance.

Duration of the course is 3-5 years.
