Eligibility Criteria

  1. The students who want to study this course should complete an M.Tech or M.E. prior to this PhD. No other students from any other stream are allowed to study this course. The preferred subject of specialization for the M.Tech or M.E. course is Electrical Engineering, or Electronics and Communications Engineering, or Microwave Engineering, or Wireless Technologies, or any other related subject.
  2. The students should obtain a minimum of 60% in the M.Tech or M.E. course to be able to take the admission forms.
  3. The students will be further screened through an entrance examination. All those students who clear the entrance examination are further screened through an interview and then selected. As mentioned earlier a lot of universities offer in house or student exchange scholarships to meritorious students. Among the students who are shortlisted for the interview, the students scoring highest in the written test and interview will be considered for the scholarships.

Job Prospects

  1. The students can apply for a postdoctoral fellowship after this course. These fellowships are offered by either Indian research organizations or abroad universities. Your job will be to work on some innovative research problems and propose some solutions for them.
  2. You can become a professor in either Electrical Engineering or Wireless Technologies or Microwave Engineering in any engineering college.
  3. You can become a support engineer in any company. Your job will be to maintain the wireless technologies manufactured by your company. After a few years of experience you will be promoted as a senior technical support engineer in that company.
