Master of Engineering is addressed as M.E. it abbreviated name in most of the cases. It is a Post Graduation degree course in technical stream. M.E. in Polymer Engineering is a course which helps to get generic research-based knowledge and skills related to the field of polymers and associated technologies. It also includes details about chemists, materials scientists, and industrial projects and in-depth knowledge of specialty polymers, traditional commodity plastics, their applications in different sectors like pharmaceuticals, biomedical, electronics, etc.
This course is not available through correspondence as it includes lab experiments, guest lectures, industrial projects, and visits, etc.
Candidates who have pursued or pursuing graduate degrees like Bachelor of Technology, Bachelor of Engineering, B.Sc. or any other equivalent degree in Polymer Science, Polymer engineering, etc are eligible for this course. It must be pursued from a reputed institute and candidate should have scored 60% marks as aggregate to become eligible for this course.
For admissions, interested candidates need to fill the application form carefully and then submit the same before the last date of application submission. This application form should be enclosed with all other required documents and application fee to get processed. Further Study options
Polymer Engineering has good scopes in the field of research; hence candidates having research aptitude and willing to pursue higher studies should enroll in Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Technology. It is a research-based course which allows you to select any topic of your own interest and conduct research on that.
The course teaches about mathematical and statistical methods during the initial phase. Then it also teaches about Polymer Processing, testing, lab sessions, principles of management, polymer physics, characterization, processing, and mechanics of composites and other related topics.
The course also includes some valuable seminars, guest lectures, industrial visits, etc for candidates to have an idea about the application of the subject.
These candidates can work in firms like Petrofiles cooperative Limited, ONGC, petrochemical Engineering Plants, Indian Institute of Petroleum, Oil India Laboratories, etc very easily.
