Master of Engineering or M.E. is a post-graduate level degree course and Geomatics is related the field of Environmental Engineering. Geomatics is many times also addressed as Geospatial technology which is actually the discipline of gathering, store, processing and then delivering the correct geographic information and spatially referenced information.

This field of engineering is less crowded hence admissions are not very difficult. Some institutes offer direct admissions but some reputed institutes either conduct their own entrance test or consider the ranking of national level entrance tests.

After completion of this course, candidates interested in higher studies can enroll M.Phil in Geomatics. After M.Phil. completion, Ph.D. is also an option for candidates having research aptitude.
The course includes both theory and practical sessions. The theoretical part of the course includes topics like Probability, Statistical methods, Image processing, Decision Support System, GIS, and Cartography. Details of Advanced GIS, Digital Cadastre, Geodesy, and Management System, etc are also included in the course. The practical sessions are arranged for GIS, Remote sensing and Photogrammetry and other related things.
