B.Sc. or Bachelor of Science is an undergraduate course in the field of Science. It has multiple specializations and Plant Biology and Plant Biotechnology is one among them. This course includes the study of plant pathology, plant life, and complete plant kingdom. Candidates also learn about technological methods related to biological systems and living beings which are in use to customize the processes and products. The course includes different domains related to this field like biophysics, biochemistry, environmental biotechnology, immunology, molecular biology, medical biotechnology, animal biotechnology, agricultural biotechnology and many more.
This course requires 12th standard or equivalent level of education and candidates possessing the same from a recognized and reputed institutes are eligible for this course. The minimum qualifying marks ranged between 50-60% but vary from one institute to another. The age criteria also vary and candidates are advised o check the same from the selected institute before submitting their applications.
For admissions, interested candidates can fill and submit their forms before the last day of submission. Application forms should be enclosed with all other required documents like previous qualification certificate copy, age certificate, application fee, etc. Admissions can be direct, on a merit basis or through entrance tests.
the duration of this course is 3 years. These 3 years are divided into 6 equal parts known as semesters.

After completion of this course, candidates have so many options to pursue their higher studies. They can go for M.Sc. in Applied Plant science, mycology and plant pathology, plant biotechnology, plant pathology, plant molecular biology, etc. They can also enroll in M.B.A. in Medicinal plants.

This course is a combination of theory classes and practical lab sessions where candidates get to learn through conducting experiments. The course teaches about algae, fungi, and lichens, their life cycle, their applications, etc in details. It also includes algal and fungal biotechnology, their molecular details, a taxonomy of angiosperms and economic botany. Phototherapy and ethnobotany is also a part of this course.
These candidates can become a plant taxonomist, a plant cytologist, palynologist, plant pathologist, an ecologist, Plant geneticist, etc very easily.
