Castings are achieved by pouring hot molten metal into molds which are later removed when the molten liquid has solidified into the desired shape and size. Mainly aluminium and cast iron are used for producing the casts. However, bronze, magnesium, steel and brass are also often used for making such casts. On the other hand brazing is a fabrication or manufacturing process that involves the shaping of the metal to desired shape by the application of localized force. The foundry and forging industry is an important part of the metals and the manufacturing industry.
