M.Tech or Master of Technology is a Post Graduation level degree course in the Technical stream. After completion of this course, candidates interested in higher studies can enroll in Ph.D. or Doctor of philosophy degree course with the same or related subject. It is a research-based degree course and provides opportunities to learn through experiments.
The course starts with topics like analysis of ocean structures, designing problems in ocean engineering, hydrodynamic Lab, Ocean Hydrodynamics, etc. Then the candidates learn about designing and construction of Ocean structures, system design problems, and other related things.
The course includes some seminars, some elective subjects, guest lectures and lab sessions.
The last part of the course includes short-term project and thesis submission.
These candidates can work as a Project scientist, coastal engineer, shipboard assistant, geoscientist, Oceanographer, assistant engineer, quality systems engineer, etc as per their choice and interest.
