Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Management is also known as PGDEM (its abbreviated name). It is a diploma level course which can be pursued after graduation. The candidates learn about basics of management, accounting, principles, and practices of management, disaster management, environmental pollution management, environmental economics, etc through this course.
The course requires candidates having pollution monitoring skills, having knowledge about site assessment, remediation, environmental audits, waste management, etc.

As its name suggest, candidates holding a graduation degree in any stream from a reputed and registered institute are eligible for this course. Candidates having high scores and have specialization in a related subject are preferred for admissions in reputed institutes. It is advised to check the age criteria from a selected institute as it varies from one institute to another.
For admissions, interested candidates need to fill and submit their application form to the selected institute on time. Their applications must be enclosed with other required documents like age proof, application fee, caste certificate, etc. Admissions are direct in most of the institutes.

After completion of Master’s degree, Ph.D. in Disaster management, environment management, etc can also be pursued to enter the scientific world.
The course includes fundamentals of environmental sciences, environmental biotechnology, environmental pollution, and monitoring, etc. Candidates also learn about management principles, environment management, pollution control, waste management, etc through this course.
Special focus on industrial hygiene, hazard management, occupational health and safety, etc is also given in the course.
These candidates can work in charitable trusts, environmental consultancies, research organizations, educational firms, environmental agencies, Food and Rural affairs departments, etc very easily. They can work as a data analyst, consultant, teacher, lead test engineer, etc as per their choice.
