PUC or Pre-University Courses prepare you for future university level education. It is done at the intermediate level and is of 2 years in duration. The course is taken after class 10th or SSLC that stands for Secondary School Leaving Certificate exam. A PUC course is important in the sense that it ingrains in you a basic knowledge about the subject that you are going to study at the university level. Thus PUC Commerce provides with a solid foundation in the different subjects in the commerce stream for a future career in finance, commerce, business and other similar lines.
Eligibility and selection
Should have passed the SSLC or class 10th from any recognized school board. The selection to the course is based on the aggregate marks obtained in class 10th. Candidates are selected based on merit. If need be there will be an interview to judge the suitability of the candidate for the course. Along with other necessary document, you will have to submit the transfer certificate obtained from your previous school.

The commerce stream is a very worthwhile one in terms of getting employment. You may get employed in the banks, insurance sector, financial companies, stock market and the stock exchanges. Depending upon your qualification whether B.Com, M.Com, CA, CS or others you will be employed as an accountant, senior accountant, chartered accountant or company secretary. People with commerce background are required in every stream, in the private and the public sector. You can take a plunge in business too.
