Diploma is considered as a course for those who are not able to do regular degrees but want to have jobs. The diploma is available in most of the professional and technical subjects. Diploma in Medical Radiography and Imaging Technology is related to radiography stream which teaches about the techniques and processes involved in creating images of various human body parts and useful for different clinical purposes. After completion of this course, candidates are advised to pursue higher studies to have a better career in future. Candidates can go for B.Sc. in Medical, Urology technology, B.U.M.S., Bachelor of Medical Radiotherapy, etc for a graduate degree. After that Post Graduation can also be done in same or related subjects. Other suitable options are Fellowship in 2D Echocardiography, Geriatric Medicine, Aesthetic Medicine, Sports Medicine, etc.
M.Phil and then Ph.D. in the related topic is an option for candidates having research aptitude and want to have a scientific career in future.
The course starts with very basic topics like basics of computers, patient care, Medical Ethics, human physiology, anatomy and pathology in connection to radiology, etc.
Then candidates learn about radiobiology, radiation safety, equipment of modern imaging modalities, etc during the course.
They can become an X-Ray technician, key account manager, Radiographer, Medical Advisor, teacher and lecturer as per their interest.
