Diploma is a course designed for candidates who are not willing to pursue regular degree courses. It is available in most of the subjects from all the streams. Diploma in Computer Aided Costume Design and Dress Making is related to Fashion designing course which deals with the basics of computers and its applications in costume making. Costume designing is the fabrication of any apparel for the appearance of performer or character. The course mainly includes research, designing and then making the actual items from conception.
Candidates having spirit for teamwork, creative minds, good communication skills and are sensitive to changing trend should pursue this course.
If you have completed your 12th standard successfully from a registered board and recognized institutes, then you are eligible for this course. The minimum required marks and age vary from one institute to another. So candidates are advised to check the same from the selected institute before submitting their application forms.
Admissions are very simple and direct in most of the institutes. Only some reputed colleges may shortlist the deserving candidates on the basis of merit list or through conducting entrance tests.

As these candidates have not pursued any degree, it is better to go for graduation if they have interest in pursuing higher studies. They can go for B.A. in Fashion Business Management, Fashion Design, Fashion Brand Management, B.Des in Accessory Design, Knitwear Design, Jewellery Design, and Technology, etc.
After that, Post Graduation can also be done in same or related subjects. They can go for M.A., M.B.A., M.Sc., M.Tech, M.Des etc in the specialization of their interest.
The course starts with very basic topics like the organization of garment unit, introduction to fashion designing and sewing technology, fundamentals of children apparel, etc. Then the candidates learn about principles f pattern making and grading, fiber to fabric, fashion and clothing psychology, Textile Wet processing, apparel Quality and Management, etc through this course.
