Eligibility:


A candidate can be admitted to BE Computer Science and engineering course if he has passed the HSCE (10+2) examination with Science subjects: physics, maths and chemistry. For admission in IITs it is required to qualify the Joint Entrance Examination (J.E.E).

Course Details:


The duration of the course is of four years with eight semesters. The first subjects focus on the basics namely physics, chemistry, mathematics, basic electricity, engineering drawing, communication skills and workshop. The second and third year subjects are oriented towards the core components of the course with subjects like electronic devices and circuits, data structures, algorithm and complexity, networks, multimedia, software engineering, operating systems, signal and systems etc. The curriculum is typically geared towards elective subjects in the final year which focus on current trends in programming, technologies etc. Students have to carry out a team project in the final year with guidance from faculty mentor. The course work is taught with lectures, practical, tutorials, mini projects and seminars and enables the candidate to be ready to take on the challenges of the world.

Job opportunities:


Computers have pervaded every walk of life and hence the computer industry has become one the most rapidly growing industries. This has resulted in increasing demand for computer engineers to design, develop, test and maintain hardware components, software programs and systems, and networks. The graduates can find jobs in computers and all other industries where computers are deployed in both government and private sector.
