This two year course includes one year of course work followed by project / internship in the second year. The curriculum comprises of computer related subjects like Parallel computer architecture, Advanced operating systems, cloud computing, advanced computer networks, data structures and complexity, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software architectures, web technologies, distributed computing, compiler design, game theory, system security etc. Students are expected to carry out project work in area of interest and publish at least two papers in conference and journals of international repute.
Computing domain has ample scope for jobs and research, both in private and government sector. PG candidates can take up positions in IT MNCs as software engineer, software developer, technical specialist, web developer etc. The graduates can also take up jobs in computer networking companies, research labs, government departments, business organizations, and other sectors like manufacturing, health care, pharmaceuticals, textiles, telecommunication, aerospace etc.
If the post graduate student is interested in higher studies then he or she can opt for doctoral research and get a PhD degree. This is the highest level of qualification any one can achieve.
