M.S. is an abbreviated form of Master of Science and it is a post-graduate level degree course basically connected to medicine stream of science. It is available in many different subjects related to diagnosis and surgery. The branch of Otorhinolaryngology is related to the study about Ear, Nose, throat and neck and head related disorders. Candidates after completion of this course become competent professionals to support and treat the ENT patients. Candidates learn about how to take a detailed history and to perform physical and ENT examinations like anterior-posterior rhinoscopy, indirect Laryngoscopy, audiometric, and otoscopy assessment and interpretation.
This course cannot be pursued through correspondence but there are some institutes offering this course in the part-time mode for professionals.
The duration of this course is 2 years. These 2 years are equivalent to 4 semesters; each semester is having 6 months duration.
Candidates holding bachelor’s degree in science or medicine or any other related subject from a reputed and registered institute are eligible for this course. The minimum required marks and age requirement vary from one institute to another and candidates should check the same before submitting the applications.
For admissions, interested candidates need to submit their filled application forms before the last date of submissions and one candidate can apply in multiple institutes as per his availability but the admissions can be taken in one institute only at a time.
Most f the reputed institutes offer admissions through entrance tests and candidates performing well in the same get shortlisted for admissions.

The theory part includes study about basic science related to Nose, Ear, Throat, neck and their diseases. The candidates learn about principles and diagnosis of ear, nose and throat diseases and operative surgery for the same. The practical part includes case studies and the oral part includes instrumentation.
