M.Tech or Master of Technology is a postgraduate level degree course in the technical line of education. M.Tech in Digital and Wireless Communication Engineering is started or designed to create experts in the field of networking, advanced modulation techniques, error control, mobiles, satellite communications, antenna designs and wireless communications. The candidates get professional insight to work in the field of electronics, research, industry and even academics through his course.

Candidates who have pursued Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology from a reputed institute and have secured 50% or higher in the same are eligible for this course. Candidates from electronic and communication background are preferred in some institutes. There can be some relaxation for reserved caste in age and marks criteria.

Most of the reputed institutes either conduct their own entrance tests to validate the knowledge of candidates and consider the scores obtained in national level entrance tests. The duration of this course is 2 years. These 2 years are divided into 4 semesters; each semester is having 6 months duration.

After completion of this course, candidates are eligible to pursue Ph.D. or Doctor of Philosophy in any topic related to Digital and Wireless Communication. It is a research course and candidates having research aptitude are suitable for this. This course will allow you to enter the scientific world of now innovations.
The course includes topics like antenna theory and its design, probability and random process, wireless and mobile networks, advanced digital communication, etc during the initial phase. Then the candidates learn about multimedia communications, image and video processing, digital signal compression, etc.
Details of RF and Microwave circuit, Modern DSP, GSM and UMTS, Error control coding, Simulation modeling, and analysis are some important part of the course.
The course has also included some seminars, projects, and guest lectures.
These candidates are ideal for working in research labs, companies like Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd, Electronics Corporation o India Ltd, Indian Space organization, Bharat Sanchar Nigam, Bhabha Atomic Research Center, etc.
