Soil mechanics and foundation engineering are part of civil and structural engineering studies. They are also included in the study of geotechnical engineering or rock mechanics. B.E./B.Tech in Civil or Structural Engineering. Admissions to the course are mainly through GATE scores. In some cases entrance tests might be conducted by the college or university.
