The course begins with an introduction to digital electronics. You are made to understand the difference between analog and digital signals. You learn the basics of digital systems, i.e. binary, octal and hexadecimal number systems. You get introduced to subtraction, addition, multiplication and division in binary systems. You will be learning about binary coded numbers. You will learn about Boolean Algebra, logic gates and various logic functions. You will learn the use of OR, AND, NOT, XOR and the other gates. There will be topics on logic families, integrated circuits and scale of integration like MSI, LSI and VLSI. As you progress down the course you will be learning about programming and microcontrollers. You will be also made aware of the latest in PC architecture, microprocessors, networking, robotics, embedded systems technology and other specialized subjects. You will learn of the various applications in digital electronics. You are provided with in-depth practical training and also exposed to the digital industry sector through internships.
The diploma program in digital electronics is highly useful in getting jobs in the electronics or the digital industry. You may join any of the fields, be it telecommunication, software, networking, etc. Public sector utilities like BSNL and MTNL seek the services of diploma engineers for its various posts.
